About Me

Laurel D. Oziel, MSW, LCSW, ACSW

Board Certified Diplomate

I have been in the private practice of psychotherapy for over 30 years.

I have also taught, trained and supervised clinical social workers and other mental health professionals, administered a large psychiatric practice in Beverly Hills, California, and taught seminars in the Department of Psychiatry at a major medical school.

My practice is specialized in the treatment of depression, anxiety and panic disorders, PTSD, trauma (including abuse as children or adults), phobias, and relationship and sex therapy. Finally, I also treat domestic violence victims, victims of crime, victims of rape,, and co-dependency.

My therapy practice is based on direct, goal oriented, structured psychotherapy approaches to the conditions I specialize in treating. My experience is that people who come in for treatment much prefer a direct treatment approach that identifies and resolves the issues they have in the most effective but efficient way possible. I also provide general psychotherapy.

I am a Board Certified Diplomate within my profession, have been licensed as a marriage and family therapist, have been certified as a sex therapist, and hold the Academy of Clinical Social Workers credential, the most respected credential in my profession.

On a personal note, people who come in for treatment generally respond to me as a warm, involved and easy-to-talk-with professional with whom they can comfortably form a trusting relationship. If you'd like a brief, no-charge initial phone consultation to experience your comfort level when we talk, you can request a consultation on the contact form on this web site or you can phone for an initial consultation.
